On March 2, The 100 Black Men of Greater Washington, D.C. in partnership with the Brothers Academy and 100 Black Men of Maryland, received 125 donated laptop computers and 50 hotspots.
The event was held at Gaithersburg High School in Montgomery County, Md. The donation was made possible through the Maryland General Services Administration’s Federal surplus donation program and PC’s for People.
James Thompson, President of the 100 Black Men of Greater Washington, D.C. thanked Ellington Churchill, Jr. for facilitating the donation and attending the event, and also thanked the nearly 10 more distinguished officials who attended. “As we celebrate our 10th anniversary of STEM the 100 Way, this donation will ensure even more mentees gain access to our programming, helping to prepare the STEM innovators of the future,” Thompson said. “We are thankful for this partnership,” said Thompson.
