On Saturday, November 6th, the 100 Black Men of Greater Washington, D.C. conducted the final event of a 2-part session entitled “Leadership in Acton” by hosting a fun-filled day at Terrapin Adventures with Saturday Leadership Academy (SLA) mentees. Part 1, conducted virtually, explored the foundations of leadership and helped mentees identify their individual leadership style. Part 2, put theory into practice with a variety of events designed to build leadership skills, critical thinking, and teamwork at Terrapin Adventures. The training was a huge success! The 100’s SLA program consists of young men from grades 8-12 and focuses on public speaking, presentation skills, leadership development, team work, financial literacy, and health & wellness.
