The 100 Black Men of Greater Washington, D.C. was awarded the 2022 National Chapter of the Year in the medium category and the 2022 Collegiate 100 of the Year at the national organization’s 36th Annual Conference in Hollywood, Fl. Saturday. The 100 Black Men of America, Inc. has more than 125 chapters nationally that demonstrate extraordinary dedication to community service across the country. Annually, chapters are recognized in the three categories of small, medium, and large for the impact they make in their communities, particularly as role models and mentors.
The Collegiate 100 consists of Howard University Students who are mentored by the 100 BMGWDC, who also serve as mentors for DC area youth. The Collegiate’s reach is impressive, serving more than 150 middle and high school students from 60 schools across D.C., Maryland, and Virginia, through bi-monthly workshops and activities focused on leadership development, holistic wellbeing, financial literacy, political engagement, and social justice among others.
