Saturday, March 3rd marked a special achievement for members of the Howard University Collegiate 100 chapter, as they hosted high school students from the 100’s Saturday Leadership Academy.  Saturday Leadership Academy Chairman, James Thompson, and Collegiate 100 Chairman, Travis Reed, worked together to provide the Collegiate 100 members the opportunity to take the reins and plan, coordinate and execute the Saturday Leadership Academy activities for the day.

The Collegiate 100 shared information about the rich history and power of HBCU’s, the college application process, campus life, and the importance of setting and maintaining focus on your goals.  The Collegiate 100 ended the SLA session with a tour of Howard University’s campus.  The SLA students found the information incredibly valuable and everyone had a great time.  Developing leaders is a cornerstone of the 100’s program and it was rewarding to see the Collegiate 100 members step up to a new challenge.
