The Greater Mid-Atlantic Agency of Prudential is associating to lend support and opportunities
WASHINGTON, DC - Jan 11, 2010 - The 100 Black Men of Greater Washington, D.C. ("the 100") announced today its association with Prudential's Greater Mid-Atlantic Agency to help promote financial literacy to the youth of Greater Washington D.C.
The Greater Mid-Atlantic Agency of Prudential works with individuals and businesses to help them grow and protect their wealth. The Prudential Insurance Company of America, is one of the largest life insurance companies in the US with more than 50 million individual and institutional customers. Throughout its history, Prudential has helped to grow and protect community assets. Their employees have a long-standing commitment to the communities where they work and live. The association with the 100 Black Men of Greater Washington DC will allow Prudential's Greater Mid-Atlantic Agency to continue that tradition.
"As active corporate citizens, we've learned that investing in communities -- with the goal of making a real difference -- is not easy, said Brad Blaisdell, Manager Financial Services, Prudential's Greater Mid-Atlantic Agency . "There are many good causes, many strong organizations and many people who could benefit from additional resources. Choosing where to invest can be difficult. Our support of The 100 Black Men of Greater Washington, D.C. is an important and wise investment that will make a difference."
Resources donated to "the 100" will be directed towards their financial literacy programs. The financial literacy program is a 12-14 week intensive course aimed at teaching high school students about investing in the stock market, annuities and planning for retirement. Beyond the financial resources "the 100" has also created the association with Prudential's Greater Mid-Atlantic Agency to identify future candidates for employment.

100 Black Men of Greater Washington, D.C., Inc. is a 501(c3) organization founded in 1995 by an alliance of African-American men, dedicated to giving time to enhance the lives of young people in the Washington Metropolitan Area. 100 BMOGW, Inc. is an affiliate of the 100 Black Men of America (100 BMOA).
